We're bringing a brand-new feature to Ubersuggest: AI Search Visibility.
This tool helps you understand how your brand appears inside large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and Gemini. In simple words, it shows you if people are seeing your brand when they ask AI for answers, how often it shows up, and even how your visibility compares with your competitors.
It's like opening a new window into how the world of AI "talks" about your brand — and it can change the way you plan your SEO, content, and marketing strategy.

How AI Search Works (and Why It Matters)
Traditional SEO focuses on ranking your website in Google. But today, many people search by asking AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude instead. These tools don't return a list of links. They generate answers based on patterns they've learned from public web content — including articles, reviews, FAQs, and comparisons.
Because of this, your brand can appear (or not appear) inside those AI-generated responses.
And that matters — because more and more decisions are happening inside AI conversations. However, AI answers are not always the same.
If you ask the same question multiple times, you may get different brands mentioned. This is intentional — LLMs introduce variation to sound natural, not repetitive. So sometimes your brand may be included, and sometimes it may not.
This is why visibility in AI search isn't about one answer — it's about how often your brand appears across repeated responses.
How Ubersuggest Measures AI Search Visibility
To account for this natural variability, Ubersuggest runs multiple AI prompts for your keywords and competitors — not just one. For each query, we look at whether your brand is mentioned in the response, even if there is no clickable link.
Then, we aggregate those mentions to find your overall visibility share across all answers.
This gives you:
- A consistent, data-based view of how often your brand appears in AI responses
- Clear comparison against competitors
- The ability to track visibility changes over time
You'll find AI Search Visibility inside the Projects section, alongside features like Dashboard, Site Audit, SEO Opportunities, Rank Tracking, and Competitor Analysis.
How to Generate Your Report
To set up your brand and generate your first report, you'll need to enter a few details:
- Website URL – the site you want to analyze.
- Brand name – make sure it's spelled correctly so the system can recognize it.
- Language and location – to make results more accurate.
- Topics or Main Keyword – the most important step. You can create topics, which contain the keyword that best represents what you want to measure and compare with your competitors. If your business is local, you can also add a city or region here for more precise results.
If the prompts don't look right, refine your keyword as many times as you need. When you're satisfied, click Continue to generate the report.
Example: Ubersuggest
To show why choosing the right keyword matters, let's look at an example with Ubersuggest.
- If the main keyword is set to "digital marketing tools", the results look too generic.
The prompts include broad questions and competitors that don't really represent what Ubersuggest actually does.
- But if we change the main keyword to "seo analysis tool", which is much closer to the core of Ubersuggest, the results instantly become more relevant and precise.
The prompts, competitors, and top brands align much better with the product's actual positioning.
This shows why being specific with your main keyword is so important: the better your keyword, the better your insights.
Creating Topics For Your Brand
You can track your Brand's visibility for multiple keywords, by creating topics. The process of creating a new topic is similar to creating a brand, where you need to input the keyword, location and language for that topic.
After providing this information, you'll need to select the prompts that you want to track.
Note that the prompt limits apply to all topics. You can check how many prompts you can add in these articles:
What You'll See in the Report
Once generated, your AI Search Visibility Overview will include:
- The percentage of AI answers that mention your brand.
- Your average Industry Rank compared to competitors.
- How your visibility changes over time with charts and trends.
- The main prompts people type into ChatGPT that trigger mentions of your brand (or your competitors).
This is your starting point to understand if — and how — your brand is being seen in AI-driven search results.
Key Features of AI Search Visibility
The report is divided into these tabs: Overview, Prompts, Brands, Sentiment, and Citation.
It also shows the timeframe of the analysis and the AI source.
1. Overview
Brand Visibility
This percentage tells you how often your brand has been mentioned across all AI answers during the period you selected (30, 60, or 90 days). For example, if there were 100 AI answers analyzed and your brand appeared in 2 of them, your visibility would be 2%. This is your starting point for understanding if you're being noticed at all.
Industry Rank
Here you’ll see your average position compared to other brands in your space. If there are 50 competitors and your brand’s average placement is 13th, the dashboard will clearly show “13th in Industry Rank.” This is a simple way to see where you stand and how far you are from the leaders.
Analyzed Data
This section tells you how many AI answers were studied based on the prompts collected. For example, if 999 prompts were tracked and each generated at least one answer, you’ll see “999 responses analyzed.” It gives you a sense of how deep the analysis goes.
Top Brands Visibility
This is where you'll see a chart showing your visibility percentage, side-by-side with your competitors. Even if your brand doesn't rank, it will still appear at the bottom of the chart with zero data, so you can see where you stand and what's missing.
Top Prompts
This list reveals the real questions people are asking in ChatGPT. It also shows how your brand appears in those answers, including your average rank. If you want to know what people are really asking — and whether your brand is part of the conversation — this is the place to look.
Top Brands
You'll find a list of the most visible brands in your industry, complete with average rank, mentions, and visibility score.
Brands Visibility
A donut chart that clearly shows your brand's visibility. The chart is divided into two parts: the percentage of AI responses that mention your brand, and the percentage that don't.
Competitor Visibility
Here you'll find a line chart that tracks how your brand's visibility compares to that of your competitors over time. It shows whether mentions of your brand in AI answers are increasing, decreasing, or holding steady — all side by side with your competitors.
2. Prompts
The Prompts tab gives you a direct window into the real questions people are asking in ChatGPT. It's where you can see the exact conversations happening and check if — and how — your brand is showing up in them.
Each prompt comes with detailed data: the platform it came from, the exact question asked, your brand's ranking in the response, your visibility score, and which other brands were mentioned. You'll also see a quick feedback option (thumbs up or down) to mark whether a prompt feels useful for your strategy.
If you click on a specific prompt, you'll get a full overview of the AI responses tied to it, including the brands mentioned.
And for easier reporting, you can either copy the content directly or export the entire list to a CSV file.
3. Brands
The Brands tab shows every brand detected across your prompts and topics, including your own brand and your tracked competitors. From here, you can pin priority competitors so they always appear first in your charts, ignore brands that aren't relevant to your analysis, and manage Brand Aliases.
Managing Brand Aliases
Brand Aliases help the AI recognize every variation of your brand name and website, so your visibility data stays accurate and doesn't get fragmented across different names for the same brand. For example, “NP Digital,” “NPDigital,” “Neil Patel Digital,” and “NPD” are all really the same brand, and aliases let Ubersuggest treat them as one.
To manage aliases for a brand, click the settings icon next to your project on the Overview tab, then go to the Brand Aliases tab, and click Edit aliases.
This opens the Edit Brand Aliases window, where you can add or remove:
- Brand: your primary brand name (shown with a "(you)" tag).
- Brand Aliases: alternate spellings, abbreviations, or product names for your brand, up to 20. Each one is added on a separate line by pressing enter.
- Website: your primary domain.
- Website Aliases: regional domains or URL variations (e.g., ubersuggest.com.br), also up to 20.
Once you're done, click Save and Apply. You can also click Clear all to remove every alias at once, or use Delete aliases to remove the whole alias set for that brand.
Aliases only affect how the AI recognizes and groups mentions of your brand. They don't influence prompt generation or the AI generated responses themselves.
Aliases vs. separate brands
Brand Aliases are only meant to group variations of your own brand — different spellings, abbreviations, or regional domains — under one name. They're not designed to merge two genuinely different brands or competitors together, or to “unmerge” a brand that the AI is incorrectly attributing to you or to a competitor. If you notice a brand grouped incorrectly, for example, an acronym or regional storefront being counted as a separate entity, or two unrelated brands being lumped together, reach out to Support with a few example prompts or AI responses so the team can review it.
4. Sentiment
The Sentiment tab helps you understand not just if your brand is mentioned in AI answers, but how it's being described, and how much of the overall conversation belongs to you versus your competitors.
Share of Voice
This shows your brand's share of total mentions across all AI answers, relative to your tracked competitors. It's calculated as your brand's mentions divided by the total mentions of all brands in the responses analyzed. For example, if your brand appears in 50 responses out of 500 total brand mentions, your Share of Voice is 10%.
You'll see:
- Your Share of Voice percentage, with a trend indicator showing if it's up or down compared to the previous period.
- Your rank among tracked brands (e.g., "#2 of 5 tracked brands").
- A donut chart showing how the conversation is split between your brand, your top competitors, and everyone else.
- A ranked list next to the chart with each brand's Share of Voice and trend.
Think of Share of Voice as your AI market share. It tells you how much of the AI search conversation belongs to your brand versus others in your space.
Brand Sentiment
This measures the tone AI uses when describing your brand — positive, negative, or neutral.
You'll see:
- A Positive Sentiment percentage, with a trend indicator.
- A sentiment trend line over time, so you can compare the current period to the previous one.
- A positive/negative split bar showing the proportion of each.
- Top positive themes (e.g., "Fast Support," "Great Value") and top negative themes (e.g., "Limited Features"), each with how often they come up and whether they're trending up or down.
This helps you catch shifts in how AI portrays your brand early, so you can adjust your content and messaging strategy before it becomes a bigger issue.
Prompt Sentiment
Alongside the Brand Sentiment overview, you'll also see a sentiment score for each individual prompt in the Overview and Prompts tabs. Each one shows a sentiment bar and a numerical score, so you can sort and filter to quickly find which specific prompts are generating negative brand perception and dig into why.
5. Citation
Being mentioned by AI is one thing, being cited from an actual page is another. The Citation tab shows you exactly which pages and websites AI tools are pulling from when they mention your brand (or your competitors), so you can see not just if you're visible, but where that visibility is coming from, and where the gaps are.
Citation tab overview, showing the Summary/Performance/Citation Opportunities sub-navigation.
The tab is split into three views: Summary, Performance, and Citation Opportunities.
Summary
This is your at-a-glance view of how citations are shaping your AI visibility.
- Your Citation Share – the percentage of tracked AI answers that cite your brand. This is your overall citation visibility in one number, shown with a trend arrow against the previous period.
- Your Pages Cited by AI – how many of your own pages are actually being cited by AI, compared against a benchmark competitor. This shows how much of your own content is reaching AI answers, not just how often your brand is mentioned.
- Third-Party Pages Citing You – how many external pages (news sites, blogs, forums, review sites) mention your brand, and across how many different domains. This reflects your earned visibility, the mentions you didn't create yourself.
- Citation Share Over Time – a trendline comparing your citation share to your competitors' over a date range, so you can spot momentum or drops and connect them to campaigns or content changes.
- Industry Ranking – a leaderboard of tracked brands sorted by citation share, so you can see at a glance where you stand.
- Your Citations Distribution – a breakdown of where your citations come from: third-party websites, social media/forums, your own website, and competitor domains. This helps you see which channel types are actually driving your visibility.
- Top Cited Pages – the pages or domains AI cites most often for your topic, whether they're yours or not, with a toggle to view by page or by domain.
- Citation Opportunities (preview) – pages and domains that cite your competitors but not you, so you know where to focus outreach or content efforts.
- Your Top Cited Pages / Competitors' Top Cited Pages – a toggle to directly compare your best-performing pages against your competitors' best-performing pages.
- Your Citation Share vs. Competitors by Topic/Platform – a grid comparing citation share across brands, cut by topic or by AI platform, with the leading brand highlighted in each column.
Performance
This view digs deeper into where your citations are actually coming from, focused specifically on earned (non-owned) visibility.
- Citation Share from External Mentions – the percentage of AI answers that cite your brand through sources other than your own website, isolating your earned-media impact from your overall visibility.
- External Domains Mentioning You – the number of unique external domains citing your brand, split between competitor-owned and third-party domains.
- External Pages Mentioning You – the same idea at a page level, useful for spotting specific high-value pages rather than just domains.
- Answers Citing Your Content – the total number of AI answers that included a citation of your brand, your core "am I showing up" number.
- Prompts/Topics Citing Your Brand – the specific prompts where AI is already citing you, along with search volume, platform, market, and intent, so you know which queries are already working for you.
- All Citations by Webpage/Domain – a full, searchable table of every page or domain citing content in your industry, useful as a central reference when auditing citation activity across the board.
Citation Opportunities
This view is your action list: where competitors are winning citations that you're not.
- Opportunity Pages – the number of pages that cite your competitors but not you, giving you a sense of the size of the content gap.
- Opportunity Domains – the same gap measured at the domain level, helping you prioritize which sites are worth pursuing.
- Top Opportunity – a single, highest-value missed domain, so you have a clear starting point instead of an unranked list.
- Third-Party Pages Not Mentioning Your Brand – a detailed, filterable list of competitor-citing pages and domains that don't mention you yet, useful as an outreach or content target list.
- Prompts/Topics Not Citing Your Brand – prompts where competitors are cited but you aren't, showing exactly which queries to target with new or optimized content.
Additional AI Prompts add-on
You can also purchase additional AI prompts directly from your Account section, if you'd like to go beyond your plan's default prompt limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who Has Access to the Feature?
Free or Restart user: you'll have access to the basic version, so you can test the feature.
Monthly or yearly plan: you'll have access to more brands, more prompts, and faster refresh rates.
Lifetime subscribers: the basic version of AI Search Visibility is included by default — and you can expand it through an add-on.
There are a few limits to keep in mind, and they vary by plan.
Each project inside Ubersuggest equals one brand in AI Search Visibility.
If you're on an Individual plan, you can create 1 project and track 1 brand. If you're on Business, you can create 7 projects (so 7 brands). And if you're on Enterprise, you'll be able to track up to 15.
Updates also depend on your plan:
- Individual plans refresh monthly.
- Business plans are refreshed every two weeks.
- Enterprise plans refresh weekly.
Each update is tied to the date you created the project. For example, if you created it on September 5, then your next refresh will be October 5 if you're on Individual, September 19 if you're on Business, and September 12 if you're on Enterprise.
Prompt limits also vary: Free and Individual plans are capped at 10 prompts per brand. Business users can see up to 15 per brand (105 total if you use all 7 projects), while Enterprise goes up to 20 per brand (300 total across 15 projects).
How to Expand These Limits?
Customers can expand the number of prompts available by purchasing the +25 Prompts Add-on, available directly in the Account & Billing section.
This option is available for all tiers — monthly, yearly, and Lifetime users.
For more information about the lifetime plans' limits, check the AI Search Visibility Limits for Lifetime Plans article.

I Need Local Insights. What Can I Do?
You can now select a specific city when creating your report.
This allows you to see how your brand performs in localized AI searches — perfect for businesses targeting specific markets or service areas.
Why You Might See Different Responses in ChatGPT?
That's normal — AI doesn't always give the same answer!
Each time ChatGPT generates a response, it includes a small amount of randomness to make its output sound more natural and human.
This means two users asking the same prompt — even in the same place — can get slightly different results. Sometimes your brand will appear, and sometimes it won't, depending on the data and context at that time.
In short, what you see in ChatGPT is one version of the answer; what you see in AISV is the bigger picture of how often your brand appears across many AI responses.
How Long Does It Take Until My Brand Appears in AI Responses?
The time it takes varies, and it usually doesn't happen overnight. In most cases, it can take several weeks before your brand starts appearing consistently. A few things affect this timeline:
- Online presence: The more your brand is mentioned on trustworthy websites (news, blogs, industry publications), the faster AI tools will pick it up.
- Brand awareness: Brands with higher search interest and media coverage are recognized more quickly.
- Updates of AI models: Tools like ChatGPT don't update in real time. Many rely on data that could be months (or even a year) old, so it may take until the next model update for your brand to be included.
- Authority and credibility: Mentions on reputable sites carry more weight than mentions on less authoritative sources.
