Ubersuggest’s traffic estimations have recently gotten a major upgrade. Thanks to more accurate click-through rate (CTR) data for search results, the numbers you're seeing now are more reliable than ever—especially when it comes to organic traffic.
The newer estimations tend to be higher and more in line with what you might see in Google Analytics. While no tool can match GA exactly (since it tracks actual visitors), Ubersuggest is getting much closer—particularly for organic search traffic.
How Traffic Is Estimated
Here’s a breakdown of how Ubersuggest calculates traffic:
Keyword Search Volume: The Monthly search volume is analyzed for each keyword.
Search Rankings: Your site’s position in Google for those keywords is factored in.
Click-Through Rate by Position: CTR estimates are applied based on ranking positions.
Combined Data: Traffic is calculated using both page-level and (if relevant) international data.
Note: Ubersuggest provides mainly estimates of the organic traffic. It doesn’t include referral, social, email, or direct traffic.
The goal is to give you a clear picture of how much traffic your site could be getting from search. While it’s not exact, it’s a strong benchmark that’s constantly being improved.
Why Estimates May Differ from Google Analytics
You might notice differences between Ubersuggest’s numbers and what you see in Google Analytics. Here’s why:
Data Sources: Ubersuggest uses Google API data to estimate traffic and rankings, while Google Analytics measures actual user behavior on your site.
Click-Through Variability: CTRs can vary based on factors like device, search intent, and snippet appearance.
Organic vs. All Traffic: Ubersuggest tracks only organic traffic; GA includes all channels.
Update Frequency: GA updates in real time. Ubersuggest updates monthly based on large-scale data aggregation.
How Organic Traffic Is Determined Across Ubersuggest
The Organic Traffic data shown across Ubersuggest depends on whether the domain you’re analyzing has a project created and connected to Google Analytics (GA).
When a Project Is Connected to Google Analytics
If you are analyzing a domain that:
Has a project been created in Ubersuggest and
Is connected to Google Analytics
Then, all Organic Traffic data across the app for that domain is pulled directly from Google Analytics. In this case, the traffic shown is not an estimate.
When a Project Is Not Connected to Google Analytics
If:
There is no project created for the domain, or
A project exists but is not connected to Google Analytics
Then Organic Traffic data is shown as an estimate, based on Ubersuggest’s traffic modeling. This estimation follows the methodology explained earlier in this article (keyword rankings, search volume, CTR modeling, and aggregated data sources).
How to Verify Google Analytics Data Used by Ubersuggest
If your project is connected to Google Analytics and you want to confirm that Ubersuggest is pulling the correct data, you can verify it directly in Google Analytics:
Go to Reports
Navigate to Acquisition > User acquisition
On the table, you can set the filter. Please choose “First User Medium”;
Locate the organic row (second line)
Check the value in the Total users column (first column)
This number should match the Organic Traffic shown in Ubersuggest.
If it doesn’t:
Make sure you’re comparing data from the same Google Analytics property (the one analyzed in Google Analytics and connected in Ubersuggest).
Make sure the date range matches in both tools.
When Monthly Traffic Updates
Ubersuggest updates its traffic data at the start of each month. However, it can take up to 2 days for the new numbers to fully appear. That’s because the platform processes a massive amount of data from the previous month.
So, if your traffic numbers haven’t updated right away at the start of a new month, just check back a few days later.
Behind the Scenes: Data Volume
Ubersuggest works with a huge dataset every month. Here’s a quick look:
20 TB of processed data
82 billion search results indexed
32 billion pages analyzed
5 billion domains
350 million keywords per month
900,000+ monthly users
500 million monthly queries
Other key metrics:
68+ million pages crawled for audits
340+ million backlink requests
2+ trillion backlinks indexed overall
FAQs
Is the Organic Traffic shown in Ubersuggest always an estimate?

Traffic data is updated monthly at the start of each month. It may take up to 2 days for the new data to fully process and appear in the app.
How can I check if Ubersuggest is using my Google Analytics data?
If your project is connected to Google Analytics, you can verify the data by checking:
Reports > Acquisition > User acquisition
Set the dimension to First user medium
Look at the organic row and the Total users column
This number should match the Organic Traffic shown in Ubersuggest.
