In Ubersuggest’s keyword tracking tool, you may sometimes see a keyword labeled as “Pending” or “Not Ranked” or notice that the data takes longer than expected to load.
These statuses usually appear because of one of the following reasons:
The selected timeframe for your data view
Recently added keywords that haven’t been updated yet
Keywords that currently don’t rank in search results
This guide will show you what these statuses mean, why they appear, and how to manage them effectively.
Data Collection and Timeframe Selection
Ubersuggest starts tracking keyword data from the moment you add a keyword to your project. Any attempt to view data from before that point will show an indefinite loading indicator, since no historical data exists for that period.
Choosing the right date range is key to viewing accurate results. If your selected timeframe includes dates before the keyword was added, the tool may appear to be stuck loading. To avoid this, set the date range to start on or after the date your project was created.
Understanding the "Pending" Status
The “Pending” status appears when Ubersuggest is still collecting data for a newly added keyword. This is normal and temporary. The status remains until enough data is gathered to display the keyword’s ranking position and other metrics.
If you add a keyword after your project has been created, it will appear as “Pending” until Ubersuggest’s next weekly update (daily updates are no longer available). The keyword’s data will display automatically once the update is complete.
What Does "Not Ranked" Mean?
The “Not Ranked” status means your tracked keyword does not appear within the top 100 search results on Google. This is normal for new, low-visibility, or highly competitive keywords and can happen for several reasons:
Keyword Visibility: The keyword hasn’t gained enough visibility to appear on the first few pages of search results.
Recent Changes: Rankings can fluctuate, temporarily pushing the keyword out of the top 100. Fluctuations in Keyword Rankings.
Search Volume and Competition: Low-volume or competitive keywords may not rank if your site lacks sufficient authority or relevance yet.
To improve visibility, consider optimizing your content around the keyword and monitoring changes after the next ranking update.
Special Case: Featured Snippets
In some cases, keywords with featured snippets may still appear as “Not Ranked” in Ubersuggest. This happens because featured snippets don’t always align with traditional ranking positions.
We’re continuously improving Ubersuggest to better recognize and display featured snippet rankings, ensuring their visibility is reflected more accurately in your reports.
