With the continued rise of mobile and tablet usage, understanding how your website performs across both desktop and mobile platforms is more important than ever. Ubersuggest's Rank Tracking report makes it easy to compare performance on Google’s desktop and mobile search results—helping you adapt to the evolving SEO landscape.
Mobile Rank Tracking: How to Activate
Mobile rank tracking in Ubersuggest shows how your website’s keywords perform in Google’s mobile search results, which can differ from desktop rankings due to Google’s mobile-first indexing and differences in search behavior. It helps you understand your real visibility for users searching on smartphones and tablets.
Mobile rank tracking is not activated by default in Ubersuggest and must be manually enabled, as the tool initially tracks rankings on desktop only.
To enable Mobile Rank Tracking, go to the Rank Tracking, edit the project, and turn on the option from the project settings menu.
How to Compare Mobile and Desktop Rankings
You can easily switch between mobile and desktop data views in your Rank Tracking report by clicking the corresponding device icon. This allows you to analyze:
Keyword rankings per device type
Which pages rank for which terms
Performance over time, for both mobile and desktop
These insights help you tailor your SEO strategy for different devices.
Mobile Indexing: Why It Matters
Google's mobile-first indexing means the mobile version of your site is prioritized for indexing and ranking. Rankings can vary between mobile and desktop, so it’s crucial to analyze them separately.

Important Update: Rank Tracking Frequency
As of recent Google SERP data policy changes, Ubersuggest has updated how rank tracking works:
Rankings are now updated weekly by default for all plans
Daily updates are no longer available
Keyword ranking coverage still includes positions in the top 100 results
These changes were necessary to maintain data quality while adapting to new Google data collection limitations.
